Biography

Philip Guya, known simply as Guya, is a competitive bodybuilder and entrepreneur based in Nairobi. A rare leap-year baby born on February 29, 1992, he holds both a BSc and MSc in Civil Engineering from Coventry University. Growing up, Guya was heavily involved in sports, playing basketball throughout university with ambitions of reaching the NBA, and even spending a year as a dual athlete in basketball and American Football. Driven by a desire to 'be faster, stronger and jump higher,' his rigorous gym routines eventually led him to pursue an exceptional physique. He shifted his focus entirely to bodybuilding in 2018 and is currently coached by his uncle and friend, Rashid Saikwa. In competitions, Guya focuses on Classic Physique and Open Bodybuilding, competing in both locally while preparing for an international Classic Physique debut in 2026, with plans to step on stage in Dubai or Europe. Outside of competing, he works with his family in the construction industry and is an online fitness coach.

Supplement Stack

Vitamin C
A core piece of his year-round micronutrient foundation. When the basics are covered, the body stops fighting to survive and can focus on training and recovery.
Vitamin D3
Another pillar of his micronutrient foundation. Keeping levels topped up year-round helps the body shift out of survival mode and into performance mode.
Omega 3
A non-negotiable in his stack year-round. With micronutrients dialled in, the body has what it needs to prioritise training and recovery over basic survival.
Zinc & Magnesium
Rounds out his micronutrient foundation. Together, these basics signal to the body that it is well-resourced, freeing it up to train and recover effectively.
Creatine
Acts as a great cell sweller, provides power, helps build ATP in the muscle, and offers cognitive advantages.
Protein Shakes
A practical way to meet the necessary intake of 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight (2.2g/kg), which is hard to get from food alone for heavy bodybuilders.
