What distances can I choose from?

5km, 10km, or 21km, with flag-offs at 6:45 AM (21km), 8:00 AM (10km), and 8:30 AM (5km). Arrive at least 30 minutes before your start time.

What's the difference between physical and virtual participation?

Physical participants join in person at KALRO Grounds-Muguga with on-site support, refreshments, and an in-person medal ceremony. Virtual participants can run or walk their chosen distance anywhere - in their neighbourhood, on a treadmill, or at a local park - anytime during September, and choose to receive either a t-shirt or a medal.

How much does it cost?

Adult Early Bird is KES 2,000 until 16th August 2026, after which Adult Standard is KES 2,500. Child registration (12 and under) is KES 1,500. All tiers include a t-shirt and medal.

When and where can I collect my t-shirt?

T-shirts are available at selected pick-up points from 16th August to 23rd September 2026. After that, collect at KALRO Grounds, next to the BBGG Village entrance, from 6:00 AM on race day with your registration details.

Are there changing facilities or storage on-site?

No changing facilities are available, so come dressed in your running gear. There's no personal item storage either, but parking is close to the start line so items can be left in vehicles.

Childhood Cancer Awareness

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. All proceeds support the Faraja Childhood Cancer Programme, helping change outcomes for children affected by cancer in Kenya. Around 3,000 children are diagnosed with cancer annually in Kenya, according to the Ministry of Health.

Course Details

The 5km, 10km, and 21km routes are primarily on trails within the KALRO Grounds in Muguga. Marshals, water stations, direction markings, medical teams, ambulances, and security are positioned along all routes. Runners who miss their flag-off time can still complete the well-marked course.

Getting There

KALRO Grounds-Muguga is roughly 48 minutes (27.4km) from Nairobi CBD via Nairobi-Nakuru Highway/A104, with tolls on this route. From the CBD, take Moi Avenue to Uhuru Highway/A104 (3 min), continue on the A104 into Kiambu County (31 min), then take Nderi K.A.R.I. Road to the venue (13 min) - KALRO Retreat Centre, Kari Kandeng'wa Road. Go slow after Sigona Golf Club, as missing the turn requires a long detour to turn back. Free parking is available near the BBGG Village and start line.
