Did You Know?

🌍Kitui County is one of Kenya's most water-stressed regions, with communities depending heavily on seasonal rains and dams like Kwa Maingi for their water supply.
🌍The Kitui Green Run ties each kilometre run to a measurable water storage outcome - school rainwater harvesting systems, community storage points, and dryland restoration including sand dams and soil bunds.
🌍Kitui town sits at approximately 1,150m above sea level, giving the course a warm but manageable climate for most of the year.
🌍The 21km course passes the Kwa Maingi Dam, one of the landmark water infrastructure projects in Kitui County.
