Course Details

The Beer Mile is run on a standard 400m track: chug a beer, run a 400m lap, repeat four times, fastest legal time wins. Beer must be fully consumed inside the transition zone (the 9m stretch between the mile start line and the 400m finish line) before setting off on each lap. Cans or bottles must be at least 355mL (12oz), opened only once inside the transition zone, with no tampering (no puncturing, squeezing, or straws). Vomiting incurs one penalty lap at the end regardless of how many times it happens. For record attempts, video proof is required, and total remaining liquid across all 4 beers must be under 120ml.

Getting There

Ulinzi Sports Complex is on Langata Road, approximately 10.1km from Nairobi CBD, around 20 minutes via Raila Odinga Way and Langata Road (traffic-dependent, sometimes the fastest route despite the distance). From the CBD, take Cabral Street onto Moi Avenue, follow Kenyatta Avenue to the roundabout, then continue via Valley Road and Raila Odinga Way onto Langata Road to the venue.
