Course Details

The race runs as a 15km circuit loop starting at Ndege Chai, passing the Kericho Tea Factory, Kerenga Barrier, Exotic, and Kisumu Road before finishing at Moi Gardens. Elite riders complete multiple laps to reach their category distance (Elite Men 120km, Elite Women 100km, U23 Men 110km, U23 Women 90km, Junior Men 80km, Junior Women 70km), while Black Mamba (50km), Paracycling Class C (80km), Paracycling Tandem (110km), and Youths (50km) round out the field. The terrain is rolling through tea estate roads with a tarmac surface - road bikes are appropriate throughout.

Getting There

The race starts at Ndege Chai in Kericho. The county capital is approximately 263km from Nairobi via the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway and A104, around a 5 to 5.5 hour drive depending on traffic. Kericho town has hotels and guesthouses for those travelling from out of town; book ahead given the championship draw.
