Course Details

Full route details, distances, and elevation have not yet been announced. Given the Mwea setting, expect flat to gently rolling terrain through irrigated rice paddies and farming roads. Any bike type should be suitable, though this will be confirmed once the route is published.

Getting There

Mwea is in Kirinyaga County, approximately 102km from Nairobi CBD via the A2 (Thika Road/Embu-Nairobi Highway), around 1 hour 50 minutes by car in normal traffic. From Nairobi CBD, head toward Moi Avenue, turn left onto Tom Mboya Street, continue onto Murang'a Road, then merge onto the Embu-Nairobi Highway/Thika Road (A2) and follow it for approximately 82.5km. Take a slight left to continue on the A2/B6, then turn right at Kananda Shopping Centre, passing DTB Mwea Branch on the right, to reach Nice Rice Millers.
