Course Details

The run takes place along Mama Ngina Waterfront in Mombasa, a scenic coastal route. Expect warm, humid conditions typical of the Kenyan coast, in contrast to Nairobi's cooler high-altitude climate.

Getting There

Mama Ngina Waterfront is on Mama Ngina Drive in Mombasa's Old Town area. If travelling from Nairobi, fly into Mombasa Moi International Airport or take the SGR, then continue to the waterfront by road, around 15 to 20 minutes from the airport or town centre.

Did You Know?

🌍Mombasa sits at sea level, offering a very different racing climate to Nairobi's high-altitude 1,795m course, warmer and more humid, but without altitude effects on pace.
🌍Mama Ngina Waterfront is one of Mombasa's most popular public recreation spaces, known for its coral cliff views over the Indian Ocean.
🌍The Standard Chartered Foundation channels proceeds from both the Nairobi Marathon and its satellite runs toward community and charitable causes.
