About: Three days of racing at the foothills of Mt. Kenya with a race for juniors, elites, vets, masters and kids across MTB and road. Friday opens with a free Community MTB XCO, Saturday has a team time trial and a 100km road race, and Sunday closes with a kids' XCO and a 60km two-person XCM. Multi-race bundles are available.

Course Details

The festival mixes MTB and road disciplines over three days. Friday's Community MTB XCO runs on a 3km circuit, with registration from 12:00 PM and the event starting at 3:00 PM. School youth and junior groups (U16 and 17/18 years, teams of 4 to 10) go first, followed by adults (over 18) at 4:30 PM. Saturday starts at 8:00 AM with a 37km Team Time Trial (4 riders per team) and continues at 2:00 PM with the 100km Individual Road Race. Sunday begins at 8:00 AM with the Kids MTB XCO on a 10km circuit, followed at 11:00 AM by the 60km MTB XCM for adults in teams of two. Categories are Kids (7-16 yrs, Sunday XCO only, split into 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14 and 15-16), Juniors (17-18), Elite (19-39), Vets (40-49), Masters (50 and above) and Mixed (18 and above). Elevation figures have not been announced.

Getting There

Naro Moru is at the foothills of Mt. Kenya, roughly 170km north of Nairobi CBD. The drive takes about 3 hours via Thika Road and the A2 (Nyeri - Nanyuki Road). Naro Moru River Lodge is on the Nyeri - Nanyuki Road, a short final drive of under 2km off the main route.
