Course Details

A 3-day tour starting on Kenyatta Road in Nairobi. Day 1 is a long ride out from Nairobi to Chuka on the southeastern slopes of Mount Kenya. Day 2 continues from Chuka to Nanyuki, crossing over toward the northern side of the mountain. Day 3 is the return leg from Nanyuki. Riders should have their bikes serviced beforehand and be prepared for multi-day endurance riding covering significant distance and altitude change. A road or gravel bike is appropriate depending on road conditions.

Getting There

The tour starts on Kenyatta Road in Nairobi, near the CBD. From central Nairobi, take Murang'a Road and Limuru Road to Prof. Wangari Maathai Road, then follow the Embu-Nairobi Highway/A2 to the Kenyatta Road exit (Exit 14) - approximately 30.9km and around 34-52 minutes depending on traffic. Return from Nanyuki on Day 3 will need to be arranged, whether cycling back or via transport.
