Group ride format through the heart of Kenya
Passes through Thika, Kilimambogo, and the Masinga reservoir area
Course Details
The route heads northeast out of Nairobi from TRM on Thika Road, through Thika town, past Kilimambogo, and continues toward Ekalakala near Masinga Dam. The road is tarmac and generally in decent condition. Expect rolling terrain with some climbing as you leave Thika. The Masinga area offers views over the reservoir - one of Kenya's largest. A road bike is appropriate, though a gravel bike would be comfortable too. Meeting point is 7:00 AM for a 7:30 AM departure - don't be late.
Getting There
Meet at TRM (Thika Road Mall) on Thika Road, approximately 12km northeast of central Nairobi. Parking is available at the mall. The ride departs at 7:30 AM sharp.
