How does the team format work?

You register and pay as a team of exactly 4. All four members trek together, secure the team flag at Kona Baridi together, and must finish together. There is a limit of 1 ticket per order covering the full team.

What is included in the KES 15,800 team ticket?

The team ticket covers all 4 members and includes a finisher medal, event t-shirt, buff, and lunch for each person, plus team guides and armed security for the group throughout the route.

Can I register as an individual and be paired with others?

No. This event is team-only. You must register as a complete team of 4. If you don't have a full team, reach out to Blue Ribbon Kenya at info@blueribbon.or.ke to see if they can help connect solo participants.

How difficult is the route?

The 21km return route along the Ngong Hills ridge is a moderate to challenging hike with significant elevation gain and exposed terrain. A reasonable level of fitness is required. The event runs from 7 AM to 3 PM so pace yourselves accordingly.

Course Details

The route runs 21km from the Ngong Hills Windmills to Kona Baridi and back - a return hike along the Ngong Hills ridge. Teams must stay together throughout: register as a team, trek as a team, secure the team flag at Kona Baridi, and finish as a team. The ridge terrain involves significant elevation changes with exposed sections and open moorland. Trail shoes and sun protection are strongly recommended.

Getting There

Ngong Hills Windmills are approximately 25km southwest of Nairobi CBD. Take Ngong Road through Ngong town and follow signs toward the hills. The Plus Code for the venue is HJMR+VPR, Ngong. The drive from Nairobi takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour. There is parking available near the windmills gate.
