Course Details
The course descends and climbs the Kijabe escarpment, with steep technical sections, forested trails, and open ridgeline running. The longer distances involve substantial elevation gain and loss. Poles are recommended for the 50km and 80km. The terrain is unforgiving so trail shoes with good grip are essential.
Getting There
Escarp Gardens is near Kimende on the Kijabe escarpment, about 50km northwest of Nairobi. Take the A104 toward Naivasha and turn off toward Kijabe. The drive from Nairobi takes around 1 to 1.5 hours.

🌍The Kijabe escarpment drops sharply from around 2,200m to the Rift Valley floor, creating some of the most dramatic trail terrain in central Kenya.
🌍Kijabe is a Maasai word meaning place of the wind, which is fitting given the exposure on the upper ridges.
