Course Details
The course runs point-to-point from Afrika Lodges in Voi up to Vuria Hills, Kenya's highest coastal point at 2,228m. All five distances share the same finish at the summit. Start times are staggered: 62km at 4:30 AM, 45km at 6:00 AM, 35km at 7:00 AM, 25km at 8:00 AM, and 15km at 9:00 AM. A 3 PM cutoff applies and all finishers return to Voi by bus. Expect significant elevation gain, heat in the lower sections, and cool conditions near the summit.
Getting There
Voi is approximately 330km southeast of Nairobi. Options include self-drive via the A109 Mombasa Road, the SGR train (Friday 8:00 AM departure from Nairobi, Sunday 9:55 AM return from Voi - book directly with SGR), or the TREK Sports Overlander at KES 11,000 which includes transport through Tsavo West National Park and a camping option. The event base is Afrika Lodges in Voi. Race bands and vouchers are collected on Friday 1st May at Afrika Lodges - essential for accessing transport, lunch, and dinner.
