NAIROBI, Kenya — As the year progresses, Nairobi's running community is gearing up for the remaining major marathons of 2025. The calendar is packed with exciting long-distance events, including the flagship Standard Chartered Marathon and several trail ultras.

The biggest event on the horizon is the Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon (SCNM2025), scheduled for Sunday, October 26, 2025. This marks the 22nd edition of Kenya's largest marathon, which has been placing the country on the international athletics map since 2003.
The marathon will start and finish at Uhuru Gardens, Nairobi, following the Southern Bypass and offering participants stunning views of Nairobi National Park, where wildlife occasionally appears along the route.

This year's marathon emphasizes sustainability and community impact, aiming to raise KES 40 million for the Futuremakers initiative and plant 100,000 tree seedlings in partnership with Nairobi County.
